Meet the Team
Sarah Gardner
Founder & CEO
Hi, I'm Sarah!
Before GOODWALK, I spent most of my career helping people believe they could do things they weren't sure they could do yet. I started as a middle school math teacher and sports coach, built a tutoring business from scratch during COVID, and eventually found my way into EdTech, where I went from entry-level sales to VP of Partnerships in under four years. The industries changed, but the part I loved never really did: building something, bringing people together, and creating the kind of environment where someone feels supported enough to surprise themselves.
Then I became a mom. I was working as a VP, barely sleeping, giving almost all of my time to work and my baby, and doing very little that was just for me. So I made a New Year's resolution to walk for 30 minutes every day. I joined a gym, got on a treadmill, and was almost immediately bored out of my mind.
I remember thinking: I barely get 30 minutes to myself. Is this really how I want to spend them? I wanted to enjoy that time. I wanted to turn the music up, sing along, dance a little, and find a community. I wanted to leave saying, “That was so fun,” instead of just checking off the “exercise” box on my to-do list. And once I pictured that version of a workout, I couldn't stop thinking about why it didn't exist.
That is probably the most consistent thing about me: I have a hard time accepting “that's just how it's done” as an answer, and I love figuring out what could happen if you built something differently. GOODWALK came from asking that question about fitness. What if walking got the same energy, attention, music, coaching, and community as every other workout? What if the goal wasn't to prove how hard you could push yourself, but to create a room you genuinely wanted to come back to?
So I decided to build that room. I hope you’ll join me in it!

Life is a series of left and right turns—and somehow, they all seem to lead you exactly where you’re supposed to be.
After graduating from GW Law School in Washington, DC, I was lucky enough to put on my cape and work as a Public Defender. I loved the mission and the people, but unfortunately, budget cuts and mounting student debt sent me on a different path: Corporate Law. Let’s just say… that was NOT my jam.
A few years later, I stepped away and found fitness. What I thought would be a little “transition job” turned into a 25+ year career. What started with teaching a few indoor cycling classes grew into Group Fitness management with some of the biggest names in the industry—Equinox, Life Time and [solidcore]. Along the way, I had the chance to work in both big-box and boutique fitness, managing multiple studios, teams and, most importantly, people. I got to see what worked, what didn’t, and what makes a fitness community truly special.
And then came the best turn of all: I met Sarah. Now I get to bring together everything I’ve learned about Group Fitness with something I’ve always cared deeply about: making everyone feel welcome, comfortable and excited to walk through the door.
Whatever your fitness goals are, we’re here for you. No judgment. No intimidation. Just a great workout, a banging playlist, an encouraging coach and a community that wants to see you succeed.
Turns out, all those left and right turns were leading me here all along.
Aly Williams
Director of Community & Experience
Hi, I'm Aly!
I grew up just outside of Pittsburgh, PA and I've spent more than fifteen years in hospitality since, chasing one feeling across a lot of different rooms: the moment someone feels truly taken care of. Tasting-menu dining rooms, private events I built from scratch, event sales and catering across five venues at once. Different rooms, same through-line: intention. Noticing what a person actually needs, and building toward that instead of toward a checklist.
Then my body made it personal. An ankle injury in 2022 (I strongly advise against skateboarding) nearly took my leg from me. My outstanding surgeon was able to save it, but it took high-intensity workouts, running, jumping, and more off the table for the rest of my life. Walking became my way back to myself, gently, on my own terms. I was so fortunate to be able to walk again! So when I say I understand feeling like fitness spaces were not built for you, I mean it. GOODWALK is the room I needed, a place where movement feels like joy instead of punishment, and where you belong exactly as you are. Getting to look after that feeling for other people is my favorite job yet.
Off the treadmill, my heart is with my family and my dog, Mozzie, and with the next stamp in my passport. I have an intense, incurable need to see the world.
That same curiosity about people is what pulls me toward the study of them. I'm finishing a Master's at Harvard, headed toward a Ph.D., and I work part-time as a research assistant at Mass General and Harvard Medical School. It all comes back to the same belief: how a person feels in a room is never a small thing.
Come say hi! I'll save you a spot.
Strategic Advisor, Brand & Culture
Sunny Miller
Hi, I'm Sunny!
I’m an instructor, founder, hype woman, and proud movement advocate. I spent years as a Master SoulCycle Instructor in the DMV before going out on my own to build HUSTLE Cycle + Strength, which started in the pandemic in living rooms across the world. From zoom pandemic workouts, to pop ups, to a real-life studio and then eventually back into living rooms everywhere (turns out the internet is a pretty great gym), I’ve done it all!
These days, I'm bringing my decade-plus of fitness industry experience to GOODWALK as their Strategic Advisor for Brand & Culture, helping shape the vibe, the culture, and the community. My whole philosophy? Movement is medicine. It's not just about the physical. It's about feeling good mentally, emotionally, all of it.
Fitness is for everybody and every body, and every workout should leave you feeling like your best self. No exceptions, no gatekeeping, just good energy and hard work. Exercise should leave you FEELING good. Period.
